A message to our friends
Dear Friends of The Bridge,
It is with heavy hearts that we share that on Friday, August 14th, our beloved RK — Ragnhild “RK” Kjeldaas Ulrich, founder of The Bridge International — passed away from this world to be with our Lord and Savior.
The scripture that came to mind that afternoon was Philippians 1:21: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” RK wanted to live longer so she could be here for others and do more for the Lord. As so many of you know, she poured her life out for others, and we are all connected because of her faith and obedience. But where she is now — with Jesus — is far better for her.
RK founded this ministry in 1983 out of a deep love for “the least of these” around the globe and an unshakable faith in what God could do through a life fully given to Him and simply obeying His calling. And what an example of faithfulness she was to each of us.
We will share more details in the coming days, including information about arrangements. In the meantime, please join us in praying for RK’s husband, Steve, the rest of her family, and those around the world who considered RK a spiritual mother.

Obituary
Our beloved Ragnhild Kjeldaas Ulrich, age 81, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1945 in Follafoss, Norway, to Torvald and Signe Kjeldaas, and later made her home in the United States where she met her husband, Steven Leroy Ulrich.
A devoted Christian, she lived her faith with tremendous energy, love, and passion. She travelled throughout the world to encourage and support fellow believers. She founded The Bridge International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping pastors and Christian communities in countries where Christianity is not widely practiced.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, vibrant spirit, deep faith, and passionate commitment to serving God and others. Her life touched people around the world, and her legacy of faith and service will continue.
She is survived by her loving husband Steven, her brother Per, her sister Ellen, nieces and nephew, and many friends from around the world. She is preceded in death by her brother Torvald.
